This is the recitation of soorah naas (from the qur’aan), which is the last soorah in the qur’aan.  This is another one of my latest videos.

This is a video with which you can hear the takbeer of the ‘eedul-ad.haa and also read the transliteration and english translation.  This is the most recent video I created.

Today is ‘Eedul-Ad.haa which is the second ‘eed for the muslims, and the muslims will be celebrating this beautiful day worldwide.  I woke up early to get to the ‘eed salaah on time and alhamdulillaah managed to get there just as they started praying.  Then the brother gave a khutbah which was about; obeying Allaah on this day of ‘eed, whilst still celebrating and having fun, but in a halaal manner.  Not forgetting that Allaah made it obligatory upon us to pray our five daily prayers, to cover appropiately when in the company of non mahram (non related) men, forbidden for us to listen to music, and freely mix with non related men.  Which is a good reminder maa shaa’ Allaah

Afterwards, we met up with a dear sister that I know, and her husband with my brother, then came to my house for a while.

Then we went out to a resturaunt later on and had some really nice somalian food (although they could improve their service in the place, but you don’t need to know about that ; )).

I’ve recently made a couple of new videos, and have a little list of other videos I would like to make.  Recently I’ve been watching alot of qur’aan videos with the english translation and it’s helping me increase in my Arabic vocabulary and also talks about the aakhirah (hereafter).  You should watch them, I’ll post the videos I’ve created and a couple of the ones I’ve watched in a couple of later posts in shaa’ Allaah.

Oh and I’ve also got to update you on what I’ve memorized of the qur’aan recently, and a book I’ve started reading through and memorizing (arabic text), and my arabic vocab.  Yes, it truly has been a long time!

I made cheese samosas last week Sunday, the filling and pastry.  They are delicious!  I will try and upload some of the pictures that I took ASAP.  Click ‘more’ to see the recipes that I used.

I followed these recipes from Tammy’s Somali Home:

The Cheese Filling
Makes 8 large sambusa

120 g. cream cheese or 6 Kiri cheeses
1/2 onion; finely chopped
3 cloves garlic; minced
2 Tbsp. feta cheese
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese; grated
2 Tbsp. milk
3 Tbsp. carrots; grated
3 Tbsp. cilantro; chopped
Sambusa/Samosa wrappers

1. Mix the three cheeses with the garlic and milk.
2. Add the onions, carrots, and cilantro; stir.
3. Fill each sambusa cone with 1 Tbsp. of the cheese filling.
4. Seal the top seam with flour paste.
5. Preheat oil on medium heat.
6. Cook 4 sambusa at a time until golden and bubbly.
7. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

The Wrappers

Makes 32 large sambusa/samosa

5 cups flour + extra for rolling
2 ts. salt
1/2 cup oil + extra for rolling
2 cups water
oil for frying

1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Knead until a smooth dough is formed.
3. Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes.
4. Knead for 2 minutes and then divide the dough into 16 pieces.
5. Press down each piece to form a 3 inch circle.
6. Coat the top with oil and sprinkle with flour.
7. Make 8 stacks with 2 in each stack.
8. Press down to try to keep them equal in size.
9. Flatten with a rolling pin until each stack is about 10 inches.
10. Heat a pan on low heat.
11. Place the stacked circles in the pan. (You don’t want to cook them, you just want to dry them
out.)
12. Remove from the heat and cut in half.
13. Separate each piece. (Each 10 inch stack makes 4 large sambusa.)
14. Fold to form a cone. (See pictures.)
15. Fill with a filling of your choice and close using flour paste.

NOTE: Flour Paste – 2 Tbsp. flour + 3 Tbsp. water
In order to make my sambusa to look nice, I cut the top edges after I fill and seal them.

There is actually a couple of steps here that I skip (as I’m not good at it), I’ll update this post later on to show which steps those are in shaa’ Allaah.

I’m sorry to have you wait so long for me to update!  I’ve been quite busy with projects and other things.  I’ll update you in a few moments with a few posts.

Good evening!  Today I am trying to finish up 2 of my project websites.  One of them being the website of an islaamic Paltalk room that I help administrate, and another for a hosting company.  I hope to have atleast finished the web hosting website by the end of the day so that I can present it to my client tomorrow in shaa’ Allaah.

Oh and I have a potential client, I’m waiting for them to email me their website specifications so that I can give them a quote.  I hope they decide to work with me!

This is a video I created a couple of days ago with Camtastia Studio.  It’s a du’aa (supplication) that we as muslims make when we need to make a decision on something, but want to consult our Lord Allaah first.
